Welcome to Day 3.

In a world that measures worth by status and success, James offers a different perspective, one rooted in humility and truth that lasts. Whether in seasons of abundance or seasons of shortage, our value is not found in what we possess but in who we belong to.

The riches of this world fade like wildflowers under the sun, but the riches of faith endure forever. Today, let’s ask God to help us see life through His lens to hold loosely to what’s temporary and cling tightly to what’s eternal. Enjoy Day 3.

James 1:9-11.

"Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business."  James 1:9-11

How often are we warned about money in the bible.  The bible speaks about money so often.  It's as if God knew that it would plague us our entire life.  How did he know?  :)

The world continues to drive deep into our souls that it's all about what we have, what upgrades we can get and what's next on our list.  We can get so incredibly caught up in all if it if we're not careful.  James knew this and warns us against it.  He says the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

We don't even see it happening as it's happening.  I love his analogy of the sun.  It rises, shines incredibly bright and then fades away each day.  There is no stopping it.  It arrives and leaves every day.  As it hits it's peak in the afternoon, the rays wither the plant.  Taking away it's beauty.  The plant has zero control over this.  We have zero control over our wealth.  We can make plans and save, work hard, yes.  All of that is true but at the end of the day it's all Gods.

It's hard to talk about this.  It's hard to write about it.  Even now i'm sitting here trying to make compromises for the way that i handle money. I can't.  At the end of the day I don't give enough, don't share enough and don't handle it well enough.

I'm wrapped too much in this world.  I'm praying today that God would open my eyes to see how I handle money.  That i would be honest with myself and use it wisely, properly and teach my kids to do the same.

Today. Take a minute and get real with the way that you handle money.  Are you seeking God in it.  Are you seeking God's direction with it.  Be honest with yourself and surrender it to Him.   I think a lot of us could use a re-look at how we handle our money.

God.  Help us to be more mindful of ways that we can use the gifts that you've given us to feed back into your kingdom and not ours.
